YOUNG PROFESSIONALS WORKING AND PLAYING HARD FOR GOOD SHEPHERD CENTER

The Young Professionals Group (YPG) first annual spring benefit “Shanghai Swing” raised over $12,000 in support of Phase III of the Women’s Village Project. On May 18, 2002 over 200 young professionals from such industries as entertainment, finance, law, technology, consulting, education and philanthropy enjoyed Chinese fare, open wine and beer bar and five-piece jazz ensemble at Inshallah Gallery in downtown Los Angeles.

Major event sponsors and contributors included E & J Gallo Wine, Karl Strauss Breweries, Panda Restaurant Group, Capital Group Companies, Inc., ICM Talent Agency, O’Melveny & Myers LLP and Zentropy Partners. A silent auction and opportunity drawing offered products and gift certificates to many L.A. hot spots.

Since January 2001 the YPG has generated $40,000 to support the Center. Established by the Board, the YPG brings together men and women 21-40 years of age to assist in fundraising and volunteering, while also offering social and professional networking events.
